Knit me a tapestry
of broken connections.
Leave the tangled weave
And spare me your lessons.
Sew me into
The web of your deceptions,
Then pull me through
The eye of your perception.
Crochet me a lie
Of all your intentions.
Hook my mind,
Erase the contradictions.

You’ve stitched your misconceptions.
You made your bed
I’ll make no concessions.

Great storytelling in this poem, Ashlie. It flowed wonderfully, like a song. Well done!

Thanks, Jim! A lot of my poems come out as songs in my head. I’m glad that translated onto the page. Thanks for reading!
